Michael
L. Carroll
is CEO and President of CyberStrategies, Inc. He assumed the primary
role in the design and implementation of the original iBO$ business-to-business
RFQ/Bidding engine driving the hotelsupplies.com and medibuy.com.
Mr. Carroll is a pioneer in commercial use of the Internet and is
author of the book CyberStrategies: How to Build an Internet-Based
Information System, one of the first books on the subject of
intranets. This book was based on Mr. Carroll's first hand experience
in managing the development of a large corporate intranet for the
Lockheed Corporation in the early 1990s, where Mr. Carroll served
as Manager of Advanced Computers and Software Applications.
His work at CyberStrategies, Inc. has focused primarily on business-to-business
and business-to-consumer e-commerce. He is a widely recognized expert
on Internet technology and has consulted to leaders in the e-commerce
field such as Netscape Communications Corporation and GTE. He also
teaches courses on Internet technology at the University of California.
Mr. Carroll holds a M.A., B.A. in Mathematics from the University
of California, Santa Barbara.

Miles
Kurland
is the site design specialist and strategic partner for CyberStrategies.
He has over 14 years of experience in the communications and graphics
technologies that form the foundation of the World Wide Web. His
experience with graphical user interfaces and network communications
dates all the way back to 1983, when he designed and developed the
prototype software destined to become the basis of America Online
while working at PlayNET Inc. The PlayNET software was also the
foundation for one of the earliest VR products: LucasArts' Habitat.
In 1986 he came to Time Arts, Inc. and became senior designer of
the pioneering Lumena computer paint and animation system. Lumena
served as the model for subsequent generations of computer graphics
applications, such as Adobe Photoshop and Fractal Design
Painter.
As Senior Software Architect at Macromedia, he held the highest
software development position in the design and creation of their
flagship multimedia authoring product, Director. At Macromedia
he was charged with the planning, design and implementation of the
imaging module of Shockwave. Today Shockwave is the leading
technology for bringing interactive multimedia to the WWW.
In addition to these technical credentials, he has an academic background
in art and design, and has been recognized as an accomplished computer
graphics artist for many years. This is a rare combination of skills
and experiences are ideally suited to the creation and deployment
of rich and compelling 3rd Generation web sites.
