BUSINESS
TO BUSINESS (B2B)
Overview
Business-to-business e-commerce has unique
marketing and technological challenges not found in the consumer
oriented e-commerce segment. Requirements can often be complex and
not fit into the standard consumer shopping cart model.
Business-to-Business developments often need to consider:
* complex customer pricing models
* integration of legacy systems
* database integration
* aggregation of data from multiple sources and formats
* intra-business and inter-business communication
* RFP systems
What
can CyberStrategies do for you?
CyberStrategies, Inc. has been involved in the many
facets of business-to-business e-commerce development for some years.
We have a team of professional engineers who can examine a current
business model, review marketing and technological requirements,
then document and build a solution that meets not only the needs
of today but be scalable and flexible to meet the needs of tomorrow.
Since we work with a wide variety of e-commerce tools, we can build
a solution that integrates seamlessly with existing systems while
providing a good foundation for future development. This is especially
relevant to the ever-changing landscape of business-to-business
commerce.
History
We have developed the original iBO$ business-to-business
RFQ/Bidding engine driving the hotelsupplies.com and medibuy.com.
This was an integrated way of bringing many companies together as
both sellers and buyers to create and bid on RFQs.
In
support of a contract primed by Logicom Technologies, CyberStrategies,
Inc. software engineers built the STAR system for Hunt-Wesson. This
extranet system, built with ASP and MS SQL Server, securely
integrates shipping carriers with the Hunt-Wesson ordering ERP database.
It enables carriers to select orders and compile their own shipments.
BUSINESS
TO CONSUMER (B2C)
Overview
The Business-to-Consumer segment of the industry
is growing faster every day. There will be a time in the near future
when not having an electronic storefront will be a serious disadvantage
to a business' success. A successful electronic store must have
a solid marketing and sales approach and the technology should blend
in seamlessly in to create a pleasant and natural shopping experience
for customers. This is most often achieved using the familiar shopping
cart model but not in all cases.
Business-to-Consumer
sites often need to consider:
* site design to reflect current marketing strategy or create a
new one
* easy and intuitive navigation that encourages the customer to
look around
* pricing models that may not be the same for all customers
* building a catalog that is easy to use
* easy maintenance of pricing and catalog information
* integration to ordering system or new ordering system
* integration to fulfillment or online stock control
* mailing lists for newsletters
* credit card processing
